Welcome to the home of the British Amateur Television Club

The BATC was founded in 1949 to promote our hobby of Amateur Television (ATV) and is the largest such specialist organization in the world with 15% of our members living outside the UK. We are a non profit organisation and the club is run by its members on a voluntary basis. The club covers all aspects of Television from making and editing programmes to transmitting television on the amateur radio bands.

The club provides the following for its members:

2.3 GHz band changes:
As was predicted at the BATC BGM last October it is highly likely that there will be changes to the amateur allocations at 2.3 GHz, which will almost certainly affect ATV repeaters and simplex operation.  The good news is that an additional 1 MHz may become available at 147 MHz and BATC have already put in the case for narrow band DATV.  The RSGB and BATC are involved in the assesment process with Ofcom - for the latest updates see the BATC forum page.
